The tension between chaos and cohesion is central in my work.

I paint expressionist portraits with oil paint using a palette knife. My work is a direct responses to impulse with the intention of being free from control. The process is rapid and physical. I build up layers of paint which are neither controlled or corrected. Signs of the decisions and mistakes, are what builds the work. I seek a state of mind rather than perfection because that is what makes the works represent my world. 

The works invite a relationship that unfolds over time, encouraging the viewer to also explore the relationship to oneself.
